Hello you beautiful human
I promised a cover reveal, and so it shall be … revealed. I won’t faff about with the back story I’ll just give it to you.
Meet Dima (well you probably already know Dima) and Casey.
Dima is a telepathic vampire with a penchant for quilting, and Casey is a human who just happens to be a telepath, a disgraced ex-wingball star, and a bit of a big baby, even if he is ridiculously hot.
I still haven’t written the blurb (help me). How is it possible I can write 100k+ words in a novel but writing a tiny little 200 word description is just not something I can do?
But anyway here’s the general gist of the story. Dima is happy with his lot. He has lots of success in business, including his blood alcohol brewery, Blooze. He’s lonely, but that’s to be expected when other people’s thoughts can get a little noisy. One day he is summoned to present the key notes speech at the decennial Bloodsuckers in Business Conference. He can sense another mind reader in the room, and is shooketh when that mind reader turns out to be not only a human, but a super hot hunk of a human, Casey Freckleman.
Casey wants immortality. That’s the main reason he became a vampire’s familiar. On his quest to live forever, he must telepathically extract business secrets from Dima Black so that he and his master can start their own lucrative get-rich-quick scheme and bribe the Assemble of the Undead into making Casey a vampire. But nothing is that easy, and Dima is a-whole-nother level of distracting.
Plenty of fun will be had. Including mini golf, wingball, quilting, and LOTS of spice. Obvs.
I have no idea of the intended release date yet, I am very sorry about this, but normal life things have gotten in the way a little. I’ve also started to co-author a new project with my amazing friend Lex Veia. It’s an MM hockey romance featuring a rising, smart-mouthed British hockey star, and his American, hot AF, and obviously grumpy physiotherapist ;)
As always, By the Horns (book 1) and By the Fae (book 2) are out on ebook, paperback, and on Kindle Unlimited. And signed books and bookplates are available on my etsy shop. Discount code for substack subscribers is SHOPCROFT10
Happy reading, and I will message you all soon with more details.
